I love Indian food. I'm in Thailand, but eat more Indian than Thai.
I'm trying to introduce it to locals, who typically have disdain for the Indians, and it goes down well once they are passed their resistance to it.
Having said that, I once went to a Gujarati wedding in London, and hated the food there.

Abdul's Tandoori Spice, Cardigan, a taste sensation.

Re: indian food
I recently discovered CENTURY which is at the junction of Katherine Road and Romford Road. For me its the best Indian restaurant in East London. Even better than CARAWAY in Gants Hill and LAHORE KEBAB HOUSE in Whitechapel.

The best in all of London is THE REGENCY CLUB in Queensbury.

Re: indian food
I am no longer considered a real man in the curry stakes because my wife and I share a Nan and a Rice and I have started saying pathetic stuff like 'I don't mind a mild curry, you can taste the spices'

Therefore my opinion is not only invalid, it's dangerous.

Re: indian food
I get out to India a few times a year, Pune and Mumbai, which basically means its a few months before i can eat anything in the UK without saying "it's not as good as the real thing".
Plus the fact that most Indian food in the UK is actually Bangladeshi.
either way I love curry and when in India will eat it breakfast (a nice Dosa), lunch and dinner.

Moncurs - I make you absolutely right. I've got no time for this machismo bollocks of blowing the roof of your mouth off with as much heat as possible. A subtle curry where you can pick out the flavours of different ingredients can be a beautiful thing.

Food of the gods.

When dem Babylon finally catch up with me for all the murders, three courses of curry would be my final Death Row meal.

Re: indian food
Exile. I'm the opposite. I love the spice. However i mainly ove the flavour if madras and vindaloo.

Don't mind a duplicate or a dansak or a shashlik.

However I personally love the heat. I use a lot of chillis when I'm cooking at home. If I have jerk or nandos I have the hottest stuff. Love it.

Don't go for phal though that's just a bit too hot ((leads to stomach issues the next day)

It’s not really Indian food unless you’re eating it with your hands (right)

Defjam. The scampi is pretty bland. How many bread rolls you want?

For those that don't know. Get onto Mr Vikki's website. Best curry pastes and sauces on the market. Plus loads of other chilli delights,

Re: indian food
A good restaurant can create some fabulously spicy dishes which aren't just as bland as whacking some extra hot chilli powder in.
I like my curries to be hot but they have to have flavour and to me that separates the decent restaurants from the others. A Phall is just pointless really.
A good Madras or Vindaloo or even a southern dish of equal heat is very appetising.

That said I also found a really good restaurant in Hanwell that just sells Dosa. They were pretty amazing and what a range of flavours.
